New Year's Goals

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." - C.S. Lewis

I have thought really hard for a long time about what goals I wanted to set for myself for the new year.
I had to break them down into categories to be able to follow them better.

Personal
*Decrease personal shopping- set a $ limit and stick to it. NO add-ons at grocery store either.
*Desire less material things- be happy with what I have -make it work
*Quality time with family- ie:game night, cooking night, etc
*Quality time with Mark-once a month date night
*Celebrate 10 year wedding anniversary! :)
*Travel more with family-day trips, weekend trips, and vacation
*Take get away trips with Mark
*Begin scrapbook- ordered a picfolio and pages already
*Read 2 books per month
*Stop over analyzing everything
*Have an open mind, arms and heart to new things and people
*Stop comparing myself to others
*Stop worrying what others think and learn how to say No.

Physical
*Run first 5k-begin training bright and early Monday morning!!
*Join a gym or attend mom's
*Increase organic intake. More fresh fruits and vegetables.(try a new vegetable)

Spiritual
*Complete Bible study on James by Beth Moore
*Seek local studies
*Read Bible and study His word in-depth-find mentor
*Build-up AWANA girls
*Prepare 4 year old ss class for Kidzone
*Attend seminars or WOF-ordered ticket to see Lisa Whelchel!!
*Surround myself with other Christians

Business
*Increase sales team
*Attend annual Spring Sprint-ordered tickets!!
*Dial-in phone training weekly

2011 has been both rewarding and heartbreaking for me. My family has experienced sickness, separation of marriages, loss of friendships and then were also able to heal and learn from each of these. My pastor often says we are either coming out of a storm, in middle of a storm or getting ready to enter a storm.  I look forward to the different storms in 2012 with my family.

I wish each of you a wonderful New Year! May God Bless each and every one of you.

Colby and Luke

My hubby and his brother took out boys hunting this morning. The look on Colby's face when he walked out the door was priceless. He was so excited to go. I sure hope he gets something or he will be upset. So glad he can spend time with his cousin. I cant wait to see them together in the future as teens. I hope they will be life-long friends. I will update with results good or bad later.

Im back!

I havent posted since January, so I thought I would start a new trend and make this a daily habit. I have had a very busy 2011. I have grown up alot in many ways, learning to love and be loved by my family. My children continue to grow and still delight me on a daily basis. My husband and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary in June. My husband also started joining me on Sundays at my our church. (prayer works)! He and I have grown together this past year more than any in  past. I guess after 11 years together, we finally settled in and learned how to live together.

Zach, the oldest son (17) has made some big decisions this past year as well. He broke his mama's heart in October when he decided to join the Army National Guard. As a mother, I could not be more proud of him and his noble career choice, as a mother I am praying God will watch over him and be with him when I cant. He will leave for basic training on June 19, 2012 to Fort Sill, Oklahoma and return in August to complete his senior year in highschool. Upon graduation, he will attend AIT and begin his caree for the Army. Guess we will be seeing alot of camo in the Kelley Kasa. He also got his first car, which is always a big deal to any teen-that too scares me to death.

Conner, the oldest daughter (13) is now in 8th grade. The last year before highschool and she is counting down the days. She is a member of Student Council and  Drama Club, where she served as stage manager for the 2 prodcutions, that her school has held this year. She loves to read like her mom, and would rather be reading than talking to boys or worry about the latest fashion among the teen scene. Look out in 2012, she is wide open.

Colby, the youngest son (7) in now in 2nd grade, He had a difficult time at the beginning of school. He is a mama's boy and cried the first 3 weeks of school daily. Bless his teacher for helping him with his transistion from 1st grade. He is doing great now. He loves school and loves to learn about animals and will read books and write down all the facts from the books he reads in a notebook and will read those from time to time. He loves to make things with his dad to catch animals or search for their tracks. He is a Wolf this year in Boy Scouts and has a blast with his friends. He won the raingutter regatta 2 years in a row, taking home 1st place again!

Zoe, the youngest daughter (4), started preschool and dance this year. She is always singing and playing with her dolls. She gives her older brother a run for his money in the silly department. They are like 2 peas in a pod. She follows him around like a little shadow. She has opened up this year too by being in preschool. She has made lots of friends and I look forward to seeing them grow up together.

Mark and I have had a great year as well. He is moving up within his company and I started a new business in direct sales. We shared an annual beach trip to Oak Island with the kids and have also made it a priority to have a once a month date-night with each other. Im working on him to take us to Disney in 2012. He'd rather travel to Italy with me for 2 weeks, but Im not ready to leave the kids that long, just yet. We have also started to start running together. I have a personal goal to run a 5k before Im 40 years old, so I asked him to join me for morning runs to get prepared. ( I have a little over a year until I turn 40), so we are taking it slow.

I am so excited to be with my family and friends in 2012. I look forward to what the new year brings in our lives and no we will face it together!
